The Toolpath DFM API is live, and ready for you to embed into your own workflows!
How to get access to it?
- Get an API key at our new portal
- Use that key to try out the DFM Sample UI
- Point your coding agent at the API docs, the source code for the sample UI, or our library of modular components to build into your own apps.
Why the APIs?
We all need the same information about our parts. Everyone wants to know what size tooling they need for features, how many pockets there are, if there are any non-machinable features, etc.
But everyone wants to use that information in different ways and for different goals. Working with our users, it became clear that there was no one-size-fits-all solution. Some of you want to use our hosted app, others want to integrate into their existing solutions, others want to roll your own.
Some of you want a tool to give DFM feedback customers or other internal teams.
Some tooling companies want to help users find the right tooling as quickly as possible.
Some shops want a stand alone quoting tool, others want it tightly integrated into their ERP.
And with the power of all the new coding agents, integrating APIs has simply never been easier or faster. Toolpath has the most powerful part-comprehension AI engine available. With these APIs we're making it available for you to use however you want.
The DFM APIs are just the first step. We'll be working on tool-matching and quoting APIs next, followed up by CAM automation APIs.
What happens to the old app?
The new API and the old app are fully separate systems. They don't cross talk.
We are keeping the current app up and running. We do plan to sunset it at some point, but not till we've built out new app on top of the new APIs. So in the meantime, all current customers can keep using the current app as is.
Current customers also get access to the new APIs as well. So you all get the best of both worlds!
